There is much talk these days about the threat of “radical Islam” and the fact that jihadists often seem to kill as many people leaned to the West — — Americans as they can . This is to some, an attitude of “protectionism policy” adopted the habit of seeing protectionist trade led us in some circles, warning against the dangers of “radical Muslims” worldwide. But at the risk of for “political correctness” (a nickname that I consider to be the worst things you could be anyone who called in attitudes “thinker”), I think we must be cautious of political confusion and religion.
Properly understood, speak to all the great religions of the world for the better of us, not the worst. At the same time, they all suffer from the handicap of human imperfection, and many “mystical” religions — those who believe in the existence of an omnipotent God, such as beliefs based philosophy, as Confucianism, the contrast seems a thread — of Evangelicalism have in themselves, trying to “spread the word and convert all that entails” the only true “way of hello.
Unfortunately, this aspect also speaks to the worst in us — the facet of human nature, which divides the world between “us” against “them”, and means that we seek to demonstrate “superior” in some other way. It is this aspect of Christianity that Europe has adopted the Crusades … otherwise healthy people heretics and burning witches at the stake alive accused … and even echoes our own culture in some more extreme fundamentalist sects. And yet we, ourselves, seem perfectly able to separate the “nuts” of us who see religion as a way to feel superior to another, those who regard religion as a source of power and peace, and the view of philosophy, Christianity (and Judaism) as one of tolerance and brotherhood.
Before you start taking pot all Muslims together, we need to understand the main differences between them — differences, as are those between caverous the unit, the fundamentalist polygamists in Utah. Properly understood, most differences are not from the teaching of the Christian religion, but from the political point of view — and, on occasion, the style preferences of different life religious leaders … — Drunk, some of whom suffer from ideas of their own value, and all human imperfections from its own. It also seems that much of the distrust and hatred resulting spread across not across cultures from the basic values of different religions, but the obvious excesses of a particular religion strains spinning — people who twist or distort these values for their particular purposes.
To be seen at a non-religious analogy in American history, just look at our relations with the natives who admit any student of history should not shining examples of honesty and integrity. There were many Indian tribes, which were peaceful, did not want to be left alone, and the contract under contract with confidence that we live our word. There were many bands of renegade Indians, who were outraged by what they have done all the white settlers in the attack, and would be along the border (but never in the numbers we see in movies). Our reaction was, to a song all together … and we are a frightening trend for peaceful tribes in the retaliatory attack — The attack on Black Kettle had control in the Sand Creek Massacre is one of the most terrible. (We also had a tendency to contract, we found uncomfortable, wounding another aspect of the colonization of the West, that history books often ignore).
If we try to get by in this world, all people of good must be given the situation and to distinguish it from other like-minded people in different cultures of the pan “as other parts of the world live – - and, unfortunately, dominate many headlines. Whatever the culture, I think most people (well. .. at least those who are not raised in a climate of hatred) are well intentioned and honest, and are more than ready for the blessing that we share this planet to enjoy. Unfortunately, as we all recognize and reject our own culture, to make mistakes, we are not always successfully across cultural boundaries. This seems to be the source of much of the suspicion of being in the world — and perpetuates the soil of much of the hatred that so many current conflicts we see around us seems.
On the other hand … we have reason to be optimistic: the rise of the Internet, it is possible only with people around the world. If it does nothing but make us aware that there are souls to think the other side of the world, just as eager to help the world a better place … when not to ourselves, then for our children and grandchildren … then it can prove to the biggest step towards true peace of humanity has ever done.
Of course, this does not mean that our current notions of moral relativism so common among thinkers “politically correct” these days, which can be confused with real thoughts, but its absence. In the last novel, is the star dancers, not a diplomat-humans, that “irrespective of the language, the voice of reason sounds almost the same.” Most people of good will without doubt agree, but I personally … the warning that “reason” could add at least seems to be a minimum of “thought”, and involve.
